Learn about Permaculture in 2022
I am passionate about permaculture for about a couple of years now. It seems to be the solution to so many problems we are collectively facing now, and a fantastic way to have a more meaningful life on an individual level. One of the first times I heard the word “permaculture” was when my former neighbor Antoine showed me what he did with his veggie garden. By the time, we were living right outside of Geneva, Switzerland, in a quaint little neighborhood by the Seymaz river. He had a beautiful garden where he started to grow veggies on about 20 square meters of it. He was just starting his season but it already looked fantastic. So much common sense, so much beauty, so much goodness. Since then, I have been researching, reading, and watching a lot about permaculture.
Now that we have our own piece of land, with amazing potential to grow a great part of our food, I am diving even deeper into ressources to learn as much as I can. Here are the ones that I have found the most helpful so far:
Books about Permaculture
The One-Straw Revolution: An Introduction to Natural Farming, by Masanobu Fukuoka
Permaculture Design: A Step by Step Guide, by Aranya
YouTube Channels about Permaculture
Websites about Permaculture
I am currently contemplating the idea of following a Permaculture Design Course here in Portugal. If you have done one, feel free to share your experience.
Finally, if you are also interested in permaculture, we invite you to come meet us on our land so we can connect and show you around!
